About
Castlecomer is a five piece rock band from the suburbs of Sydney, built around cousins who have been playing together for years. They take their name from a coal mining village in Ireland where much of the family came from. All of them are classically trained, and the sound they landed on is alternative guitar pop made for dance parties and big crowd sing alongs. Stevie Wonder, Two Door Cinema Club, M83, Kendrick Lamar and ABBA all show up in their list of influences. They played eight shows in three days at SXSW in 2017, and walked out with management, a record deal, publishing and a booking agent. Their breakout single "Fire Alarm" climbed to number six on Spotify's Global Viral chart, and their self titled debut album arrived in October 2018 on Concord Records. These days the band is based in Nashville, and "Fire Alarm" later got a fresh version featuring Welshly Arms.
