About
Cat Fever Band have been playing live for over fifteen years, built around a blues sound that pulls in soul, rock, funk and the occasional touch of jazz without any of it feeling forced. Their sets mix original material with a range of blues covers, familiar and obscure alike, always treating tradition as a starting point rather than a rulebook. The five piece lineup of John Klad on vocals, guitar and bluesharp, Rolf Smook on sax and vocals, Klaas de Haan on hammond and piano, Michiel Boerman on bass and vocals, and Joop de Haan on drums gives them a broad sonic palette. There is real room for improvisation each night, and the band feeds off the crowd, so shuffles, slow blues and everything in between take on a slightly different shape every time they play.
