Central Cee has spent the last few years turning UK rap into a genuinely global conversation. The Shepherd's Bush rapper built his name on a sharp pivot to UK drill around 2020, dropping "Day in the Life" and "Loading" in quick succession before his debut mixtape Wild West landed at number two on the UK Albums Chart in 2021. His follow up, 23, went one better and hit the top spot in 2022, the same year his single "Doja" briefly held the title of most streamed UK rap song on Spotify. The record that really announced him internationally was "Sprinter", a 2023 collab with Dave that spent ten weeks at number one in the UK, the longest run ever for a UK rap track. A joint EP with Dave, Split Decision, followed. He then linked with US rapper Lil Baby for "Band4Band", which became the highest charting UK rap single in Billboard Hot 100 history at number 18. His debut studio album Can't Rush Greatness, released in 2025 on Columbia Records, went to number one at home and debuted at number nine on the Billboard 200, making it the first UK rap album to crack the US top ten.
