Chris Cain is a San Jose blues guitarist with a style that stretches comfortably across electric blues and jazz blues, and he has been a serious fixture in the genre since his debut album Late Night City Blues landed in 1987 and pulled four Blues Music Award nominations, including Guitarist of the Year. That kind of recognition straight out of the gate said a lot about where he stood among his peers. He signed to Blind Pig Records in 1990 and kept a steady release schedule through the nineties, with records like Cuttin' Loose, Can't Buy a Break, and Somewhere Along the Way. His 2017 self titled album on Little Village Foundation brought him back into the spotlight, earning nominations for Blues Music Awards Guitarist of the Year, Blues Blast Best Male Blues Artist, and Best Contemporary Blues Album. He has since moved to Alligator Records, releasing Raisin' Cain in 2021 and Good Intentions Gone Bad in 2024.
