About
CineMusic Filmorkest brings film music to the concert stage in a way that goes well beyond a standard orchestral evening. A large live orchestra performs scores from around twenty internationally known films in a single show, while shortened versions of each film play on a big screen above the stage, letting the audience relive the story in a few minutes. The repertoire draws on composers including Ennio Morricone, John Williams and Hans Zimmer, with films such as Dances with Wolves, La La Land, The Holiday and Gladiator represented. Film journalist René Mioch hosts the evening, sharing background on the composers and their working methods, which gives the whole thing a bit of an educational edge alongside the spectacle.
