María la Serrana is a flamenco dancer whose style is defined by sharp footwork, raw emotion and a deep openness to improvisation. She studied under some of the most respected figures in the art form, including Mathilde Coral, Manuela Carrasco and Adela Campallo. Her most formative teacher, though, was the legendary Farruquito, who instilled in her the idea that flamenco demands total surrender, not just technical mastery. Her show DESNUDA, which translates as 'naked', is built around the concept of inner vulnerability, stripping the soul bare on stage rather than anything literal. She moves through styles that speak to her most deeply: the sensual zambra, the intense seguirya and the soleá, a form she continues to explore at greater depth. She performs alongside guitarist Luis Amador, singers Antonio Amador and Juan Fernández, and guest dancer Antonio Moreno 'Polito'.
