Concrete Vehicles started life as a recording project between two friends, Hudson Schlesny and Ben Lock, back when the band went by the name Computer. The songs they made got so chaotic and layered that a regular four or five piece lineup couldn't pull them off live, so they decided to build a bigger collective around them. That collective is now a seven piece from Vancouver, with saxophone, synthesizers and percussion pushing the material well beyond its original shape. Once the full lineup came together they played around 35 shows, including a run through Eastern Canada and slots at Sled Island and the Khatsahlano Street Party. Their debut album, Station On The Hill, came out on Dine Alone Records. If you like Black Country, New Road, YHWH Nailgun or Hella, this noisy, art leaning sprawl should be right up your street.
