About
Also known as: Cody Osagie, Cody Rashad Osagie
Cozz is a Los Angeles rapper whose route to Dreamville Records started with a music video. After he put out a demo tape and a clip for "Dreams", labels came calling, and his manager got the video in front of J. Cole, who signed him. His 2014 debut, Cozz & Effect, was meant to be a free mixtape, but it turned out so well the team decided to sell it. He later joined J. Cole's 2014 Forest Hills Drive Tour. The follow ups kept the momentum going. Nothin' Personal landed in 2016, produced start to finish by Meez, and 2018's Effected brought in both J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar as guests. He then released the Fortunate EP in 2021, with production from T Minus and Cole, and YG on a guest spot. More recently his YouTube has seen freestyles and a track called "All That I Got", so he's clearly still active.
