About
Also known as: دانا صلاح
Dana Salah wears a lot of hats: Jordanian singer, songwriter, and producer who first built her name in Brooklyn as a DJ and songwriter under the alias King Deco. That chapter produced some real moments, including the 2017 single "Move That Body", which racked up over 11 million Spotify streams and cracked the Billboard Dance charts at number 25. After returning to Jordan in 2018, she shifted toward Arabic language music, releasing the single "Weino" in 2021, which wove in the daf and other traditional Arab instruments. It crossed a million YouTube views in three months. Salah has increasingly used her platform for advocacy. In October 2023 she joined 24 other Middle Eastern and North African artists on "Rajieen", a collective response to the Gaza war, and released "Ya Tal3een", drawn from a Palestinian folk song historically sung by women for men held in Israeli prisons. She also became the first female Jordanian artist featured on a Times Square billboard, as a Spotify Equal ambassador in 2022.
