About
Daraa Tribes take their name from Daraa, the vast palm valley in Morocco that their music is rooted in. The five members each come from a different tribe, and that diversity is precisely what shapes their sound: influences from Gnawa, Sahrawi, Amazigh, Reggada and Ikaaba traditions weave together into something you would more likely hear in a North African oasis than on a conventional stage. They sing in Tamazight, Hassaniya and Darija, layers of language that reflect a multilayered cultural identity. Live, the band builds something closer to a shared ritual than a standard gig, with a reputation for raw energy, emotional depth and an intimacy that draws the audience in. They have played festivals including Afrika Festival Hertme, Shambala Festival and Water&Sound, as well as numerous stages across Morocco.
