About
De Bevers is a Dutch act built around John de Bever and Kees de Bever, who combine music with broad, slapstick comedy. Their theatrical show "De Bevers zijn er bijna..." takes the form of a musical farce directed by Paul van Ewijk, with a supporting cast that includes Arijan van Bavel, Joke de Kruijf and Bas Muijs. The premise follows John and Kees setting off on a camper van holiday, stumbling through a nudist campsite and a family campsite, pursued by a fanatical admirer and tangled up in increasingly absurd situations before the whole thing climaxes in a big camp party with a medley of John de Bever's biggest hits. Before this stage show, De Bevers already had a real life soap series to their name and sold out Ahoy in Rotterdam, which gives you a sense of the scale of the following they have built. Their blend of chaos, costume changes and Dutch pop music makes the shows as much a party as a performance.
