About
De Letterliedjes make sing along songs that help kids learn to read, zooming in on the tricky bits of Dutch spelling, the words you say one way and write another. Think a crab whose little jacket might be a bit too tight, or knowing when you're allowed to demand an ice cream. The songs are inspired by the popular Schooltv programme of the same name. Their show is built to be interactive: the audience sings along and takes part in a letter quiz, with kids invited to try beating their parents and grandparents. The players behind it are Ramón and Stefan, who come out of the children's theatre world through the company Trapperdetrap. Ramón has roots in latin, jazz and hip hop, while Stefan has played the Utrecht Chamber Music Festival with Liedjesatlas. It's a family concert, so the volume is kept to the limit set for children.
