About
De Mthuda is one of the producers who helped push amapiano beyond South African borders, and it started with a single. "Shesha Geza" came out in May 2019, went gold with RiSA and earned a Record of the Year nomination at the 26th South African Music Awards. He's also known for "John Wick". The Johannesburg DJ and producer has kept the albums coming since: Ace of Spades with Ntokzin in 2020, then The Landlord in 2021, which pulls in Sir Trill, Daliwonga, Kabza De Small, Focalistic, Njelic, Da Muziqal Chef and Malumnator. Story To Tell: Vol.2 followed in 2022, Sgudi Sync with Da Muziqal Chef in 2023, and Baba Yaga in 2024. Ace of Spades picked up a nomination for Amapiano Album of the Year at the South African Amapiano Awards. His sound sits across amapiano, private school piano, gqom and 3 step.
