About
Dead Bob is the solo project of John Wright, the drummer and songwriter behind the long running Canadian punk band No Means No, which has since retired. Wright has been drumming for around fifty years and spent roughly three decades on the road, which gives his solo work a depth that only comes from that kind of mileage. His album "Life Like" was recorded and produced by Wright himself out in British Columbia, and while he did most of the heavy lifting, a handful of collaborators came along for the ride, including Byron Slack of Invasives, Ford Pier, Kristy Lee Audette of Rong, Selina Martin, and his son Aidan Wright. A couple of tracks also came out of older writing sessions with his No Means No bandmate and brother Rob Wright. The songs cover a lot of ground stylistically and resist easy genre labels, but one thing is clear: this is music meant to be played loud.
