About
Destroy Boys took their name from words scrawled on a chalkboard during a rough patch in a relationship, which feels about right for a Sacramento punk band whose music hits that sweet spot between hardcore ferocity and genuine fun. Formed in 2015, the four piece built a reputation in the Bay Area underground before signing to Hopeless Records and releasing Open Mouth, Open Heart in 2021. Their sound pulls from a wide and sometimes surprising range of influences, Operation Ivy and the Misfits sitting comfortably alongside Sleater Kinney, Lady Gaga and Black Sabbath. The San Francisco Chronicle once described them as "equal parts hardcore and fun", and the band themselves put it even better: what would happen if Blondie stumbled into a Misfits recording session. Their fourth studio album, Funeral Soundtrack #4, came out in 2024, showing no signs of the band slowing down.
