About
Devin Sarno started as a solo bass project called CRIB in 1990, spending a decade pushing through high volume feedback experimentation before settling into the meditative, low end drone territory that defines his sound. He retired the CRIB name in 2003 and has recorded under his own name ever since, releasing a steady stream of ambient and experimental work including "Misshapen Heart" in 2023. Beyond his solo output, Sarno has an impressively tangled web of collaborations, having recorded with Nels Cline, Thurston Moore, Mike Watt, Carla Bozulich and many others. He co founded the experimental Los Angeles label WIN Records back in 1989, which put out early records by Petra Haden and Upsilon Acrux among others. He also has a parallel career as a music video executive producer, with credits including the Green Day video for "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", which took Video of the Year at the 2005 MTV VMAs.
