About
A concert Dick de Graaf performed in 2002 at Jazz in Duketown was captured by VPRO, and those recordings resurfaced years later, were digitally remastered, and came out on CD under the title Con Alma. The album doubles as a tribute to pianist Rob van Kreeveld, one of the most versatile figures in Dutch jazz history. The quartet brings together John Engels on drums, Jos Machtel on bass, and Mike Boddé alongside de Graaf, delivering straight ahead, swinging jazz rooted deep in the Dutch jazz tradition. Listeners can expect plenty of musicality and personal stories woven around that golden period in the music.
