Diego Díaz Quartet
Diego Díaz Quartet has one upcoming show in the Netherlands: on December 13, 2026 at Pletterij debat en cultuur, Haarlem.
About
Diego Díaz Quartet is a jazz group made up of students at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, most of them Spanish musicians who moved to the Netherlands to build a future in music. Their sound tries to bridge the jazz tradition and a more modern European approach, drawing on Keith Jarrett, the wider ECM catalogue and Andalusian music. The set mixes well known standards, rearranged to fit the group's own sound, with originals written by pianist and bandleader Diego Díaz. Either way, they put their own stamp on everything they play, and the band works democratically, so anyone with an idea can shape the result. Díaz has also released an earlier album under the name Diego Díaz Trio, called First Impressions Matter!, and the quartet has recorded an album titled The Crane.
