About
Few UK drill artists have had as turbulent a ride as Digga D, the Ladbroke Grove rapper who went from founding the drill collective 1011 to landing a number one album before his 22nd birthday. His mixtape Made in the Pyrex charted at number 3 on the UK Albums Chart and was noted as the highest charting independent UK drill project on the Official Chart at the time, while his follow up Noughty by Nature went straight to number one in April 2022. The 2020 single 'Woi' brought him global attention, topping Complex's best songs of the year list and earning a MOBO nomination for Song of the Year. His collaboration with AJ Tracey, 'Bringing It Back', debuted at number 5 on the UK Singles Chart in early 2021, and 'Wasted' with ArrDee peaked at number 6 later that year. A BBC Three documentary, Defending Digga D, captured the legal pressures he has faced throughout his career, including a criminal behaviour order that required all his music videos to pass police review before release. He runs his own label, Black Money Records, and is considered one of the founding figures of the UK drill sound.
