About
Baltimore raised and Los Angeles based, Dijon Duenas makes hazy, intimate music that sits somewhere between R&B and folk, with a DIY spirit he picked up from homegrown music scenes. His debut record, Sci Fi 1, came out in March 2019 and collects seven tracks of emotionally raw songwriting, touching on subjects like the anxiety of getting older. The lead single Drunk captures that late night, unravelling feeling with a directness that's hard to shake, and the whole record reportedly came together across various living rooms, mostly after dark. That lo fi, confessional quality is very much the point. Dijon started producing music around age 15, drawn to collaging R&B, folk and dance elements together. He performs and records under just the one name, and while he identifies strongly with Maryland, he has been based out of LA for some time.
