About
Nick Woods started Direct Hit! in Milwaukee in 2007 with a genuinely unusual approach: releasing music like comic books, putting out a rapid string of short EPs for free online rather than waiting years between full lengths. That scrappy early run built a fanbase before the band ever made a proper album. Their 2013 concept record Brainless God, put out through Red Scare Industries, took things to a wilder place, following a serial killer and his almost victim through a Satanic cult as nuclear Armageddon closes in. Alternative Press gave it four out of five stars and Punk News put it in their top 20 records of the year. Signing to Fat Wreck Chords in 2016 brought Wasted Mind, followed by Crown of Nothing in 2018. Over the years they have shared stages with Blink 182, NOFX, Rise Against and plenty of other punk heavyweights, and played festivals like Riot Fest and The Fest.
