Stefan Kozalla, the Hamburg based German producer and DJ behind the name DJ Koze, has one of the most distinctive voices in electronic music, blending deep house, techno and experimental electronics into something that consistently sounds like nothing else. He first made his mark as a rapper and DMC Championship finalist before pivoting toward the dancefloor, and his more eccentric productions under the alias Adolf Noise hint at just how far outside the box he is willing to go. His own label, Pampa Records, has been his creative home since 2009, releasing his celebrated 2013 album Amygdala and the widely praised Knock Knock in 2018, which landed near the top of year end lists at Pitchfork, Mixmag and Rolling Stone. More recently he produced Róisín Murphy's 2023 album Hit Parade, which charted strongly in both Germany and the UK. His fifth studio album Music Can Hear Us, featuring a collaboration with Damon Albarn, arrived on Pampa Records in late 2024.
