Dmitry Sinkovsky is one of those rare musicians who can hold his own as a virtuoso violinist, a countertenor, and a conductor, sometimes within the same programme. The Russian artist has performed with a remarkable range of period and baroque ensembles across Europe, North America, Australia and Russia, including Il Giardino Armonico, Concerto Köln and the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra. In 2011 he founded the La Voce Strumentale ensemble in Moscow, and between 2012 and 2014 he led Il Complesso Barocco, a period that brought him into collaboration with mezzo soprano Joyce DiDonato on tours across Europe and the United States. He has made recordings with the WDR Symphony Orchestra Cologne and the North German Radio Symphony Orchestra on the Caro Mitis label, and he has been a prizewinner at the Bach Competition, the Musica Antiqua Competition, and the Romanus Weichlein Competition.
