About
Donij van Doorn is a soprano perhaps best known to general audiences through her work as a soloist in André Rieu's shows, performing to crowds around the world. Recordings of her singing have racked up millions of streams on YouTube. She has also taken on leading roles in outdoor opera productions, including Midsummer Dream at Landgoed Stoutenberg, Il Bosco dell'Amore, and La Vuelta, all staged by Opera Leusden. Alongside pianist Femke de Graaf, Van Doorn forms a regular duo focused on art song. Their project Lieding Ladies takes the classical song recital in a more theatrical and intimate direction, drawing entirely on music and poetry created by women, including composers such as the Boulanger sisters, Amy Beach, Clara Schumann, and Henriëtte Bosmans.
