Dorota Miśkiewicz is a Polish singer, songwriter, composer, and violinist whose jazz roots reach across into bossa nova, samba, and pop with what Rzeczpospolita described as genuine ease. Her 2008 album Caminho, the title taken from the Portuguese word for "way" or "path", brought together Brazilian percussionist Guello, jazz pianist Marcin Wasilewski, and guitarist Marek Napiórkowski, and earned her a gold disc along with a Fryderyk nomination. She has performed internationally alongside artists like Nigel Kennedy, and even contributed a duet to Cesária Évora's album Rogamar. Her debut solo album from 2002 scored a Fryderyk nomination for Jazz Album of the Year, and she has kept building on that foundation with each release, including her fourth album Ale from 2012.
