About
Also known as: Stefan Petrus Dekker, Steve Dekker
Dr. Peacock, the stage name of Stefan Petrus Dekker from the Netherlands, is one of the key figures behind frenchcore going from a niche underground sound to filling main stages at Defqon.1, Qlimax, Thunderdome and Dominator. His productions lean melodic and upbeat compared to older, rawer frenchcore, and that distinct approach shaped how the genre sounds today. The "Trip to" series became a signature format, eventually stretching across a full album, Trip Around the World, packed with collaborators from across the harder electronic scene. Beyond producing, Dekker founded three labels: Peacock Records, Frenchcore Worldwide and Euphoric Frenchcore Records, using them to push new talent and expand the genre's reach. In 2017 he launched "Peacock in Concert", a live act featuring real musicians performing alongside him. He has worked closely with Sefa on tracks like "This Life Is Lost" and "Trip to Turkey", and collaborated with Angerfist on The Deadfaced Dimension. A health condition means he tours by car or train rather than flying, which makes his festival appearances across Europe all the more dedicated.
