About
Vienna's Dragony started life as a studio rock opera project called The Dragonslayer Project before evolving into a full power metal band with symphonic flourishes. Their 2012 debut album Legends, which featured guest appearances from members of Serenity and Primal Fear, earned them strong reviews and a deal with German label Limb Music. From there the band kept building, opening for acts like Gamma Ray and Twisted Sister, playing the 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise, and hitting Wacken Open Air. Their fourth album Viribus Unitis, released in 2021 via Napalm Records, marked their first appearance in official album charts in both Austria and Switzerland, and earned them a nomination for the Amadeus Austrian Music Award in the Hard and Heavy category. They have since signed with SPV Steamhammer for their fifth studio album, with the single Beyond the Rainbow Bridge arriving in mid 2024.
