Dream Nails call themselves punk witches and describe their genre as "witch punk", writing what they call "hexes, not songs". The London band built their reputation on furious, politically charged tracks like Deep Heat, their celebrated hex aimed squarely at misogynist politicians, and they were playing Glastonbury's women only Sisterhood stage within a year of forming. Their debut self titled album arrived on Alcopop! Records in 2020, and after co founder and frontwoman Janey Starling left in 2021, the band regrouped with new vocalist Ishmael Kirby. The result was Doom Loop, their second studio album recorded in Sheffield with producer Ross Orton and released on Marshall Records in 2023. It landed at number 37 on Kerrang's 50 Best Albums of that year, proof that Dream Nails came back swinging.
