About
Dressed Like Boys is the solo project of Belgian singer songwriter Jelle Denturck, and his 2025 self titled debut album landed him six MIA nominations right out of the gate, winning two: one for Artwork and one for Songwriter. That kind of debut is rare, and it earned him a reputation as one of the biggest revelations in the Belgian music scene. The music sits somewhere between piano ballads from the seventies, indie, and modern folk, with an intimate and vulnerable atmosphere that runs through everything he makes. Denturck is open about his queer identity, and it shapes his songwriting in a direct and personal way. The single Jaouad, dedicated to a queer artist and activist, is a good example of how concrete and honest his work gets. He presented the album live at the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels.
