Drumcorps is the project of American musician Aaron Spectre, blending metal and breakcore into something that he describes as solid songwriting fused with machine precision and genuine human intensity. Based in Amsterdam, Spectre has been releasing music under this name since the mid 2000s, building a catalogue that spans full albums, EPs, and a restless willingness to push the sound into cybergrind and noise territory. His 2006 album Grist made a real impression, winning the Sound Art Award at Austria's Ars Electronica in 2007. For the 2015 album Falling Forward, Spectre brought in Igor Cavalera of Sepultura and Cavalera Conspiracy to play drums, a collaboration that underlined just how seriously he takes the intersection of live percussion and electronic brutality. He has kept up a steady pace since then, with albums landing in 2022, 2023, and 2025 under the Drumcorps name.
