About
Duo Chiaroscuro is a violin and piano duo with roots in Spain, blending classical and Romantic repertoire with folk influenced music from countries including Argentina, Hungary, and Spain. The two musicians, Elena Contreras Abengochea on violin and Marina Berlanga Muñoz on piano, treat these as complementary rather than contrasting worlds, drawing out the range of voices and colours that live within the repertoire for their instrumentation. Their programming reflects a conviction that music carries many languages and unexplored corners, and their sets are built around sharing a personal, wide ranging musical perspective with their audiences.
