About
Also known as: Eelke van Kleijn, Six4Eight
Rotterdam's Eelke Kleijn operates in a sweet spot between deep, melodic electronic music and the kind of cinematic sound design you'd expect from a Hollywood trailer house. His name first landed on the map when Nick Warren picked his track '8 Bit Era' for the Global Underground Paris compilation in 2006, leading to his debut album Naturally Artificial on the same label a year later. A second album, Untold Stories, followed in 2010 through Manual Music. He has remixed the likes of John Legend and Way Out West, scored trailers for films including Wrath of the Titans and Ron Howard's Rush, and racked up festival sets at Sensation, Ultra, Mystery Land and Warung Brazil among others. He also runs his own label, Days Like Nights, which gives him a home for the more atmospheric, journey oriented side of his productions. Under aliases like Six4Eight he was already active in the early 2000s, but everything since 2005 has come out under his own name.
