Best known for the 2017 club anthem "Cola", his collaboration with CamelPhat, Elderbrook has built a reputation as one of electronic music's more distinctive voices. That track, a rolling electro house groove about a woman's night out, hit number one on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart and the UK Indie Chart, went platinum in the UK, and earned a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Recording. Not bad for a guy who layers gospel, soul, country and rock influences into his productions and has been known to sample breaking glasses and crackling ice alongside table banging for drum sounds. Elderbrook, the project of London based Alexander Kotz, has kept pushing since Cola's breakthrough. His debut album Why Do We Shake in the Cold? came out in 2020 on Parlophone, featuring a collaboration with Rudimental, and he launched it with a full live playthrough at the London Aquarium. His second album Little Love followed in 2023, digging into the complexities of parental love across 12 tracks. Classically trained on piano and guitar and a self described multi instrumentalist, he is the kind of producer who genuinely sounds like no one else.
