About
Eleven Hundred Springs spent over two decades as one of Dallas's most dependable country acts, rooted in the Deep Ellum scene where they built an early following through a long Monday night residency at Adair's Saloon. Founded in 1998 by singer and songwriter Matt Hillyer alongside bassist Steven Berg and drummer Richie Vasquez, the band carried a sound that touched on outlaw country, alternative country, and a bit of rockabilly grit. They put out a steady run of records over the years, from their self titled debut in 1998 through to Here 'Tis in 2020 and The Finer Things in Life in 2018. Hillyer called it a day in June 2021, with the band playing farewell shows before a final night at the Granada Theater in Dallas that November. That wasn't quite the end though: in February 2025 they reunited for a one off benefit show at the historic Longhorn Ballroom, sharing a bill with Bowling For Soup in an event cheekily themed around the infamous 1978 marquee that once paired the Sex Pistols with Merle Haggard.
