About
Emei, the stage name of Emily Li, blends alternative pop with an ear for emotional storytelling that has clearly connected with a lot of people fast. Her 2022 single "Late to the Party" racked up 5.5 million streams and nearly 10 million views on TikTok and Instagram Reels, making her debut EP End of an Era a proper introduction to her sound. She followed that up with Scatterbrain in 2023, a year that also saw her collaborate with production duo NOTD on "Hold On Me". Her third EP, RABBITHOLE, arrived in November 2024 and went somewhere more personal, charting what she described as a journey through panic and anxiety and out the other side. Around the same time she teamed up with Whethan on "SUNNYD", a track made in partnership with the actual SunnyD brand. The tender song "ginger tea" is dedicated to her late grandmother.
