About
Emily Pogorelc is an American soprano whose voice has taken her from debut stages in Washington and Chicago to the biggest opera houses in Europe. A member of the Bavarian State Opera in Munich since 2020, she has built an impressive repertoire spanning Handel, Mozart, Rossini, Puccini, and beyond. Her roles at the Bavarian State Opera have included Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, Adina in L'elisir d'amore, and Musetta in La bohème, and she picked up third prize at the Operalia competition in 2021. She made her Metropolitan Opera debut in March 2024 as Lisette in Puccini's La rondine, then returned there for Musetta and Pamina. Recent highlights include her house debut at the Semperoper Dresden as Amina in Bellini's La sonnambula, in a new production by tenor turned director Rolando Villazón, plus role debuts as Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier in Zürich and Nannetta in Falstaff at the Vienna State Opera.
