When a then 15 year old from Maastricht sang "Voilà" at André Rieu's outdoor concert series on the Vrijthof in 2023, the clip racked up 2.6 million views in five days and eventually surpassed 115 million on YouTube. That moment turned Emma Kok from a Dutch household name into a global one. She had already won The Voice Kids in 2021 and the inaugural season of Ministars in 2023, but performing alongside Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra was a different scale entirely. The collaboration produced three covers that year and led to her joining Rieu's world tour in 2024. Since then Kok has carved out her own path. She released the single "Jade" in 2025, a tribute to her late friend Jade Kops, and her autobiography Emma, Never Lose Hope came out in October 2025. Her recent YouTube uploads include live performances of "She Used To Be Mine" and "The Phantom Of The Opera", showing she is comfortable on a theatre sized stage. She also founded Gastrostars, a foundation supporting people living with gastroparesis.
