About
Winning the Second International Franz Liszt Piano Competition in 1989 set Enrico Pace on a path that would take him across Europe, Australia, South America and the Far East. The Rimini born pianist has played at some seriously prestigious venues, from Teatro alla Scala in Milan to the Salzburger Festspiele, and his debut at the Husum Raritäten der Klaviermusik festival in 2001 left enough of an impression that he was immediately invited back the following year. His 2011 double CD for Piano Classics, featuring Liszt's Années de pèlerinage, stands as a neat summation of where his musical heart lies. Pace is as much a collaborator as a solo artist. His long running duo with violinist Frank Peter Zimmermann has taken them through countless concert halls since the late 1990s, and he regularly shares the stage with Leonidas Kavakos and horn player Marie Luise Neunecker. He has also appeared at chamber music festivals in Kuhmo, West Cork, Moritzburg and Delft, and performed with orchestras ranging from the Rotterdam Philharmonic to the BBC Philharmonic.
