Also known as: Quintette Ouranos
Ensemble Ouranos came together at the Conservatoire de Paris in 2014, when five wind players formed a quintet and graduated with the highest honours. A residency at the Fondation Singer Polignac gave them early momentum, and they went on to perform at festivals across France and beyond while building a network of collaborators. The group's breakthrough on the competition circuit came in 2017, when they took home several prizes at the international chamber music competition in Lyon. That same year they made their debut recording for the NoMadMusic label. The ensemble has since grown into something more than a performing group. From 2023 onwards they have run their own academy for wind quintets, aimed at bringing a new generation of players up to professional level. Their line up features flute, oboe, clarinet, horn and bassoon, and they regularly expand the core quintet to take on larger repertoire.
