About
Bavarian folk metal veterans Equilibrium have spent over two decades weaving traditional Germanic melodies into a sound that blends folk, Viking metal, and symphonic black metal, though their more recent work pushes into metalcore territory. Their lyrics, once almost entirely in German and rooted in Germanic mythology and tales, shifted toward English from their sixth album Renegades onward. The band has seen plenty of lineup turbulence over the years, but the core has kept pushing: their seventh studio album Equinox, released in late 2025 on Nuclear Blast, marks the debut of new vocalist Fabian Getto, who was picked from a public audition and introduced with the single Shelter in 2023. Equinox was preceded by the singles Bloodwood and I'll Be Thunder, and it sounds like the band is firmly in a new chapter.
