Eric Benét has been crafting smooth contemporary R&B and neo soul since the mid 1990s, building a catalog that sits somewhere between classic soul warmth and modern polish. His 1999 album A Day in the Life is probably his most celebrated work, anchored by the gold certified smash 'Spend My Life with You' featuring Tamia, which spent three weeks at number one on the US Billboard R&B chart and earned him a Grammy nomination. His fifth album, Lost in Time, leaned deep into the sweet soul sound of the early to mid 1970s and featured collaborations with Faith Evans, Chrisette Michelle, Ledisi and Eddie Levert, with the lead single 'Sometimes I Cry' topping the Hot Adult R&B Songs chart. Benét has kept busy on his own terms, launching his own label Jordan House Records and later releasing the international project The Other One alongside the European collective The Afropeans. His 2016 self titled album brought in guests like Tamia and jazz trumpeter Arturo Sandoval, showing his range has never narrowed. More recently he teamed up with Tamar Braxton for the 2024 track 'Something We Can Make Love To', proof that his knack for lush, unhurried R&B is very much intact.
