About
Example, the stage name of Elliot Gleave, built his reputation blending electronic production with rap and sung hooks in a way that felt genuinely fresh for UK dance music in the early 2010s. His breakthrough came with Won't Go Quietly, which cracked the top five on the UK Albums Chart and delivered two top 10 singles, "Won't Go Quietly" and "Kickstarts". He followed that with Playing in the Shadows, which went one better and topped the chart on the back of two number one singles, "Changed the Way You Kiss Me" and "Stay Awake". Over five studio albums he shifted from scrappy underground rap releases through his own All The Chats imprint to polished dance floor anthems. His fourth album The Evolution of Man hit number one on the UK Dance Chart, and his fifth, Live Life Living, arrived in 2014 with singles like "All the Wrong Places" and "Kids Again" both reaching number 13 on the UK Singles Chart. More recently he has kept releasing music, with tracks like "Show Me How To Love" and "All Night" surfacing in 2018 and 2019.
