Excision, the stage name of Canadian producer Jeffrey Travis Abel, has built a reputation on sheer sonic and visual scale. His live shows are legendary for their massive sound systems, at one point pushing 150,000 watts, paired with elaborate video projection mapping and dozens of lasers. That commitment to spectacle eventually led him to launch his own festival, Lost Lands, a dinosaur themed bass music event that quickly became a landmark in the scene. On the music side, his catalogue runs deep. He debuted on Deadmau5's Mau5trap label with X Rated in 2011, then kept building with Codename X, Virus, Apex, and the 2022 release Onyx. He also co founded the dubstep supergroup Destroid with Downlink and KJ Sawka, known for performing in futuristic robot suits. Beyond releasing music, he runs Rottun Recordings and Subsidia Records, the latter named best record label of 2020 by edm.com.
