Eydís Evensen makes the kind of music that quietly takes over a room. The Icelandic composer and pianist blends classical training with ambient and contemporary textures, writing for piano, strings, brass, woodwind, and voice, with heavy influence from Chopin, Debussy, Sigur Rós, and Ólafur Arnalds. Signed to Sony Masterworks after her 2018 Iceland Airwaves debut, she released Bylur in 2021, which charted at number 23 on the UK Classical Artist Albums Chart. Her 2021 live session for KEXP has racked up 5 million YouTube streams, making it one of the platform's most watched sessions ever. Her second album, The Light, peaked at number 5 on the UK Specialist Classical Chart in 2023. She has performed at the Royal Albert Hall and the Nobel Prize Museum, and sold out her headline show at the Elgar Room. Her third studio album, Oceanic Mirror, is on the way, with singles Helena's Sunrise and Eternal already out.
