Fifty Five

About

Fifty Five is an eight piece cover band from the Den Bosch region, started in late 2022 by Ruud Geven and Marcel Vogel. The name is a nod to the early days, when the group had five players who had all passed the age of 50. Most of them had spent years in other bands, and that shared experience still shapes how they work. The repertoire stretches from quiet ballads to disco, rock, pop and blues, with some Dutch language songs mixed in. The big lineup lets them switch genres easily, built on tight basslines, funky guitar riffs, driving drums, keyboards, warm sax and catchy vocals. They play weddings, company parties, street fairs and local festivals, and they keep tinkering with their sound and song choices to build an identity of their own. Having fun playing together comes first.
