FKJ, the French producer whose full name expands to French Kiwi Juice, makes music that refuses to sit still in any one genre. Nu jazz, soul, house, electronics and hip hop all get folded together into something warm and effortlessly smooth. His debut album French Kiwi Juice captures that vibe well, built around a soulful, laid back sound that works equally well at a beach party or winding down after a night out. What sets him apart live is his role as a genuine multi instrumentalist: keys, guitar, bass and saxophone all come into play, with a loop station letting him layer it all up on stage in real time. The live album 22_23 Live Sessions gives a solid idea of what that looks like in practice.
