About
Fleshpress have been dragging sludge and doom out of Finland since the turn of the millennium, starting with the Dilemmantrauma EP in 2000 and a self titled album in 2002. Since then they've kept a steady if unhurried pace, putting out eight albums in total along with a handful of EPs. Their catalogue has some memorably grim titles, from Wörm Dirges and Pillars to No Return and Rebuild / Crumble. Acid Mouth Strangulation, released in 2011 through Svart Records, is a key entry in the story, and Tearing Skyholes followed in 2013. More recently they've leaned into their native language with Hulluuden muuri in 2017 and Viimeinen saavutettu tahto in 2024, both with Finnish titles. If you like your heavy music slow, ugly and patient, this is a band with a long track record worth digging into.
