About
Flor de Amor is a trio that moves between the melancholy sounds of Argentina and lively Cuban music, with a repertoire that also leans on their own songs in Spanish and Dutch. The mood runs from gentle listening music to passages that really get people moving, all fuelled by love for life, nature and people. Sandra Coelers sings and plays guitar, driving the rhythm with full chords, and she writes many of the group's songs. Marjolein Kempen plays flute, and her improvised lines on the concert flute, alto flute and bass flute shake off the sweet reputation the instrument usually carries, turning out sensual, mysterious tones instead. Marlon van Mook plays double bass, pushing the band forward one moment and settling into calmer low notes the next.
