Florilegium has been one of London's go to ensembles for period performance since 1991, when harpsichordist Neal Peres Da Costa and flautist Ashley Solomon brought it together. Solomon now leads the group, which zeroes in on Baroque and early Romantic chamber music played on instruments and in styles true to the era. They've performed at Wigmore Hall and on stages across the world, and their recordings have earned serious recognition, including award winning releases of Antonio Vivaldi's cello sonatas with Pieter Wispelwey as soloist, and the chamber music of Georg Philipp Telemann. It's the kind of ensemble that makes centuries old music feel urgent and alive.
