About
Francis Mercier is a Haitian DJ and producer who runs his own label, Deep Root Records, and has landed on the Beatport charts more than once. Before that, he studied math at Brown University, and he still talks about production the way a problem solver would, breaking a track down into small parts and building it back up step by step. Early on he made his name with future house remixes, and his first original, Waiting For, came out on the Italian label Musical Noize. More recently he has leaned into afro house. His single Sete, made with Blond:Ish, became his biggest track on Beatport and got the scene talking. His taste runs wide, from hip hop and reggae to Tiësto's early melodic sets, and he says that mix comes from a Haitian upbringing full of French, African and American sounds. He has played stages across the US and Europe.
